God loves homosexuals. John 3:16 teaches that God loves every person in the world regardless of race, gender or sexual preference. But, while God has deep love for all of us, He also has a strong abhorrence to immorality.

Homosexuality is something that no Bible believing person can justify. In the Scriptures it is clearly condemned as immorality. Not only is it immoral, but it is also said to be "against nature" (Rom. 1:26-27). That is, it is contrary to the designed order of creation. In the beginning God made them male and female (Matt. 19:4), and God told them to be fruitful and multiply (Gen. 1:28). Homosexuals cannot reproduce, which should indicate to everyone that there is something unnatural about the practice.

God's attitude toward homosexuality is seen in the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 19). The Bible says that the men of these cities had given themselves over to sexual immorality (Jude 7). The kind of sexual immorality they were committing was homosexuality. God burned the cities to the ground. Why would we want to celebrate a practice that God so clearly denounces?

Also, we find homosexuality listed among various other types of sexual immorality including adultery, incest and bestiality (Lev. 18:22-23). Would anyone be in favor of celebrating "Adultery Month"? Or, how about "Bestiality Pride Month"? Why would we deem it appropriate to dedicate a month to any sexual behavior?

Christians should lovingly reach out to those in the gay and lesbian community who might be looking to escape the lifestyle that they have entered. Lifestyles can change. In the same way that a drunk can stop drinking, homosexuals can stop practicing homosexuality with the help of God (1 Cor. 6:9). In the month of June we will remember that the gospel of God's grace is able to cover the sins and transform the lives of penitent homosexuals (Rom. 1:16).
